Insurance of thoroughbred horses

Insurance objects:
- thoroughbred horses used in sporting events;
- stud horses;
- stud mares.
Insurance risks covered by the policy:
- death/plague of animals as result of diseases, traumas, accidents, delivery, natural disasters;
- forced slaughter on orders from veterinary service in connection with incurable animal diseases, fighting epizootic outbreaks, etc.
Additional risks:
- improper actions by third parties;
- theft with trespassing, robbery;
- fire;
- inability to use the animal with original purpose / loss of racing and breeding qualities.
Insurance coverage may be extended by:
- covering expenditures on medical treatment of horse(s),
- surgical insurance (for the period of surgery).
During the period of animals’ transportation, additional risks of death and forced slaughter of animals are covered:
- as result of an accident, including traumas, acquired unloading and/or loading of the animal;
- during the quarantine period (no more than 30 days).
In order to draw up a policy, you have to provide:
- a questionnaire and request form (provided by Ingosstrakh specialists);
- copy of passport (you will have to provide the original passport when the policy is drafted);
- veterinary registration certificate;
- veterinary certificate – if livestock is being purchased.
