Since 1 January 2004, there is an obligatory requirement for inclusion of a carrier into the Customs Carriers’ Register that the carrier should have liability insurance cover . Ingosstrakh offers you a customs carrier liability insurance policy meeting the requirements of the Customs Code of RF.
According to Art. 94 of the Russian Customs Code, the customs carrier is obliged to insure its liability which he incurs in providing services of transportation of goods. The insurance limit should be at least RUB 20 million.

Risks covered:
liability for physical loss of or damage to cargo, for instance, in case of damage to cargo or its total or partial loss in a road accident, fire, vehicle overturn or theft;
liability for any financial loss incurred by the competent person under the contract of carriage resulting from the failing of the carrier, partially or totally, to perform his contractual obligations;
liability for loss of, destruction or damage to container during the transportation;
liability for physical loss of or damage to third party property or death, bodily injury or illness (including hospital, medical and funeral expenses) of any third party caused by the transported cargo or container;
costs incurred by a carrier after any accident that gives rise to or may give rise to a claim under the insurance, in investigating the accident and protecting the carrier’s interests in relation to it, for example, the fees of a lawyer, surveyor or expert; in avoiding or minimizing a claim.
